Inclement Weather

UT Tyler Patriot Parents and Family,

I hope this message finds you safe. As I am sure you can imagine, this storm is presenting us with a myriad of challenges. Our campus, the city of Tyler and other service providers are working non-stop to address each and every issue to help keep our community safe.

We are working with our partners to mitigate the challenges as quickly as possible. The severe weather has compromised the city of Tyler’s waterlines, which have had a trickle-down effect on our campus operating systems. University Physical Plant, Residence Life, University Police and food service providers have developed a number of solutions specifically to help our on-campus students remain safe and as comfortable as possible.

As we identify resources in the community, they are made available to our students as quickly as possible. Our students have access to food, water and additional supplies to help them stay warm. We are staying in constant communication with our students. Our on-campus residents are receiving specific communications that address their unique needs. They have also been provided with contact information indicating where they need to reach out should they need additional support.

We have created an FAQ page to address the most commonly asked questions.

Please know that your student and their safety and well-being are our number one priority.

Feel free to contact my office at studentsuccess@uttyler.edu if you have additional questions.

Thank you and stay safe!

Ona Tolliver
Senior Vice President for Student Success
