The University of Texas at Tyler announced that its master of business administration in cyber security is among the best nationwide.

Independent entity OnlineMBAPage.com, an authority in collegiate rankings and resources for nationwide MBA online programs, recognized UT Tyler for its advanced online program with criteria including coursework development, faculty reputation, affordability and accreditation standards.

"This recognition is a testament to our efforts in creating challenging and innovative programs to help students become outstanding business leaders and meet the workforce demands of a growing industry," said Dr. Amir Mirmiran, UT Tyler provost and vice president for academic affairs.

Students learn management controls covering cryptographic protocols designed to make e-commerce safer; risk analysis that leads them to perform their own network security evaluations; and retail cyber security policies around disaster recovery and hardening of enterprise systems.

"We continue to attract forward-thinking business students, regionally and beyond, who recognize that information and network security will be one of the most important considerations for conducting business in the 21st century," said Dr. Roger Lirely, UT Tyler Soules College of Business interim dean.

Internationally accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the Soules College of Business offers students engaging learning environments rooted in personal service and UT System excellence. As UT Tyler's largest college, the Soules College of Business serves nearly 2,700 students and is comprised of five academic departments and seven business-focused centers.

A member of the prestigious UT System, The University of Texas at Tyler focuses on student success and innovative research in the more than 80 undergraduate and graduate degree programs offered. With more than 10,000 students, UT Tyler has facilities in Tyler, Longview, Palestine and Houston.
