The University of Texas at Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center announced that all but two shows this season have cancelled tour dates.

“Like many other sectors, the performing arts industry has faced a year of unprecedented changes, and while we had hoped to quickly return to doing what we love most – bringing the world’s stage to Tyler – it appears we will have to wait a little longer to welcome you back to the Cowan Center,” said Susan Thomae-Morphew, executive director.

The two shows that will proceed as planned are “Menopause the Musical,” April 22 and 23, 2021, and “Georgia on My Mind: Celebrating the Music of Ray Charles,” May 11, 2021. The current audience for “Menopause the Musical” will be separated into two nights to accommodate social distancing.

For ticket information for these two shows, please contact the Cowan Center box office, 903.566.7424, when it reopens in January 2021.

“We are touched and deeply grateful for the loyalty and understanding throughout the many challenges of 2020,” Thomae-Morphew said. “As we look toward the brighter days of next year, we will re-light the stage as soon as it is safe for our artists and patrons.”
