UT Tyler School of Performing Arts to Present Student Musical

The University of Texas at Tyler School of Performing Arts will present the musical “Once on This Island” at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, April 7 and 8, in the UT Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center.

Directed by Sooah Park, DMA, associate professor of music, “Once on This Island” is a family-friendly coming-of-age story about a peasant girl on a tropical island who uses the power of love to bring together people of different social classes. The original Broadway production ran 1990-1991, and the West End production won the 1995 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical.
