Dual Degree Partnership with Jarvis Christian College
- Bachelor of Science Degree from Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas and a
- Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Tyler
The purpose of the Joint Baccalaureate Studies Nursing Program is to utilize the faculty, staff, programs, equipment, facilities, and other resources of Jarvis Christian College and The University of Texas at Tyler to provide the highest quality nursing education for the greatest number of students. Students completing the dual degree program will receive a Bachelor of Science degree from Jarvis Christian College, and after completion of the professional nursing courses, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Tyler.
In support of the program, counseling and academic advising will be provided by faculty from both institutions. Upon completion of the second year of prerequisites, Jarvis students must contact the UT Tyler pre-nursing advisor to ensure that the admission process is being followed. The general education and nursing prerequisites are completed at Jarvis. Students will then be considered for admission to the nursing program if the overall GPA and nursing prerequisite GPA is 2.75 or higher. All prerequisite courses must be completed prior to the beginning of the semester admitted to the nursing program.
The following courses must be completed at UT Tyler the semester prior to admission to program. You must have all sciences completed prior to taking the courses.
