Campus Resources

I'm First

I’m First is a program dedicated to providing a community of support for first-generation college students through information sharing, advocacy, and connections to UT Tyler students, faculty, and resources. We strive to provide a sense of belonging within our campus community. Visit I'm First: First Generation Program.

Financial Aid

State-Based Aid. Undocumented students are not eligible to receive federal financial aid. Some students, however, may be eligible for state-based aid. To apply, students must file the Texas Application for Student Financial Aid (TASFA). Additionally, students may also be eligible for external scholarships from outside entities. For a list of external scholarships, see below.

Mexican Tuition Waiver Program. The purpose of this program is to provide a waiver of nonresident tuition for students from Mexico with financial need to enroll in certain public institutions in Texas while paying the resident tuition rate. The Mexican Tuition Waiver Application must be submitted to the Office of International Programs at oip@uttyler.edu.
