New Students

It can be hard starting an academic journey in a new country! The International Student Mentorship Program connects new international students with a current domestic or current international UT Tyler student who will act as their mentor. This will provide new students with a friendly peer contact for any questions concerning student life, campus, resources, and more!

If you are a new (or transfer) international student and would like a mentor, please fill out a Mentee Application.

Mentors

UT Tyler students who have been at UT Tyler for more than a semester can apply to become a Mentor. Serving as a Mentor is an amazing opportunity to explore your leadership skills and develop intercultural communication skills--it is also a great way to boost your resume. Be part of the positive impact for incoming international students!

Requirements

More information about the required items will be provided to mentors:

  • Reach out to your mentee(s) and be a point of contact.
  • Attend OIP's Fall Mixer with your mentee(s).
  • Attend one campus event with your mentee(s)
