Summary of Overseas Insurance
Study Abroad Insurance Information
All students covered by the Student Travel Policy for International Locations are required to participate in the International Insurance Coverage program (aka Overseas Insurance). This program has three components and costs $19 per week:
- International health insurance provided by ACE American Insurance Company (Policy Number: GLM N04969340)
- International SOS (ISOS) assistance coverage (member #11BSGC000037)
- General liability coverage
Students registered in the my.uttyler Portal will be enrolled in Overseas Insurance when they are accepted into a study abroad program. The bill for the insurance will appear on the student's "Account Summary" tab and will be due 10 days before the student's program start date.
Students registered in the International Travel Registry (ITR) will be enrolled in Overseas Insurance once they have completed their registration. The bill for the insurance will appear on the student's "Account Summary" tab and will be due 10 days from the student's first destination begin date.
Overseas Insurance coverage dates are based on the student's travel dates recorded in the OIP Study Abroad Office.
Students will receive an Emergency Card at their in person Pre-Departure Meeting listing the ACE and ISOS policy numbers and contact information.
For additional coverage, students can contact the insurance carrier of their choice or ACE directly to purchase health insurance for leisure travel.
We are aware that some students will be dually covered by a national health care program and/or by a program provider insurance policy.
