Dr. Wick is a Tyler pediatrician and 1989 UT Tyler graduate.

The Tyler pediatrician has provided direct care to the children of East Texas for more than 15 years.

“Nothing compares to caring for children,” she said. “They are resilient. They come in with a smile even when they're not feeling well. My patients bring me joy every day.”

Wick discovered her passion for medicine while serving as a hospital volunteer during high school in Tyler. Choosing The University of Texas at Tyler for her pre-medical studies, she received a solid foundation for her future.

“I probably would not be where I am today in my career had I not attended UT Tyler,” the 1989 graduate said. “My professors were very supportive, keeping me on track with the classes I needed to take and making sure I was prepared to take the exam for medical school admission. UT Tyler provides a great environment for pre-medical students.”

Wick graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 1993. She began her pediatric practice in 1996 in Denver, Colorado, where she and her husband, Jeff, completed their residencies.

Her husband, a Tyler native, is an ophthalmologist, and they are the parents of twin sons. The Wicks returned to Tyler in 2003, after practicing medicine in various parts of the country.

“We both enjoy practicing in Tyler, our boys have had a great time growing up here and our relatives are nearby,” Wick said. “East Texas is a great place to practice medicine and raise a family.”
