UT Tyler Psychology and Counseling

Ph.D. Clinical Psychology

Practicum Training

Students have ample opportunities to develop their clinical skills during their training.  We have an on-campus clinic where students begin to develop interview, therapy, and assessment skills.  The on-campus clinic has 7 sound-proof  therapy and testing rooms with audio-video recording equipment.  The clinic is staffed with a full-time director and several graduate student teaching assistants.   Students work in year 2 in our clinic.  Subsequent years are in external agencies under direct supervision of faculty and other licensed professionals.  Students will accrue about 200-300 hours per semester which will allow them to be competitive for internship placement.    Here is a list of current external placements associated with our program.
