East Texas is filled with some of the most talented and dedicated teachers, both experienced and new, in the state. The List of East Texas is excited to highlight those new teachers who stand out in their actions, innovations, or qualities — and who have taught no more than five years.
- New teachers (K-12) in the East Texas area who have taught no more than five years as of the nomination end date.
- Nominee’s school must be in the following counties: Anderson, Angelina, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Delta, Fannin, Franklin, Gregg, Harrison, Henderson, Hopkins, Houston, Hunt, Kaufman, Lamar, Marion, Morris, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rains, Red River, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Smith, Titus, Trinity, Upsher, Van Zandt, Wood.
- Nominees can teach at either a public, private, or charter school.
All nominations are taken via our online form which will be active during the nomination period. We do not accept any nominations that are not submitted via the online form.

Perhaps she is using new technology or old technology in a creative new way. Perhaps he is making an impact through mentoring. Or maybe this is simply someone whose attitude or dedication is hard to ignore.

No, we will not tell the nominees that they received a nomination.

Certainly! in fact, we encourage it.
Will I be identified as the nominee?
No, we will not name the nominators.
How will the top teachers be selected?
The Editorial Advisory Board will review the nominations based on certain criteria.
