WBCA Good Works Nominee

Obach Honored for Exemplary Spirit of Teamwork, Giving Back

Michelle Obach gives wholeheartedly to UT Tyler women's basketball, leading her team to record heights and encouraging her teammates along the way.

"Michelle is a great leader for us who works extremely hard,'' Patriots coach Kendra Hassell said of the 2015-16 ASC East Division Player of the Year and Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-America.

"She encourages her teammates on a daily basis to get in the gym and continue working hard. She has become more vocal with her leadership and has become the glue for our team,'' Hassell said. "She just makes people better."

Obach's good works are not limited to athletics.

The senior from Tyler is a nominee for the 2017 Allstate WBCA Good Works Teams®, a program recognizing collegiate basketball players for outstanding charitable involvement and altruistic acts.
