Degrees & Programs

We bring the quality and reputation of one of the state’s most respected nursing schools closer to you. Courses are taught using traditional face-to-face delivery by skilled onsite professors, in addition to online and hybrid teaching models.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Through a mix of coursework, clinical experience and simulations in our state-of-the-art facilities, prepare to take your NCLEX-RN licensure exam after graduation, and begin your nursing career as a highly sought-after hire. Online Master of Science in Nursing

With programs specializing in nursing administration, nursing education or the skills to become a nurse practitioner, our master’s program combines online learning with 112.5 practicum hours of hands-on advanced clinical experience. You’ll learn from faculty members who are highly experienced scholar-practitioners.

Transfer Pathways

The vocational nursing program allows you to work in the field while simultaneously pursuing a BSN at UT Tyler in Palestine. The program, a one-year, 46-credit-hour curriculum, leads to a certificate in vocational nursing.

Convenient Location

Complete the entire BSN curriculum on the Palestine Campus. The majority of courses are taught in person, and clinical experiences are conducted close to your home to cut down on commuting time.

Clinical Experience

For the BSN program, you’ll be paired with a working RN, who’ll serve as a coach and career mentor. You’ll receive valuable on-the-job experience, learning side-by-side with a skilled practitioner to handle assessments, deliver medications and meet patient needs. MSN students envision the next stage of their careers by practicing their recently acquired skills in a practicum assignment relevant to their specialty.

Hands-on training is integral to our mission of serving East Texas and begins in the classroom. The UT Tyler Palestine Campus’s facilities reflect this: engage in state-of-the-art simulations in modern labs and classrooms equipped with the latest learning and medical technology. In addition, the campus is home to an excellent library and a health assessment lab.

Located on more than 43 acres, the Palestine Campus is an important element of The University of Texas at Tyler and is supported by full-time nursing faculty plus lab and administrative support staff.
