The UT Tyler Office of Student Health and Wellness is encouraging students to participate in the Health Educators Reaching Out program, Ona Tolliver, assistant vice president for student affairs and dean of students, announced.

The HERO program allows UT Tyler students to become involved in promoting health education at the university.

“We are actively looking for students to play a unique and effective role by encouraging and helping their own peers so we can grow our HERO program into a strong, diverse team,” said Samantha Dwight, health education specialist.

The Office of Student Health and Wellness supports student learning at UT Tyler by creating opportunities, programs and policies empowering students to:

  • Reach their full potential.
  • Take responsibility for themselves and others.
  • Contribute to the creation of a healthy, safe and socially just learning environment.
