  • Attend Immigration/SEVIS Registration Check-In
  • Obtain final, i.e., "Continued Attendance," I-20 (necessary to work, apply for driver's license, etc.)

Registration is not yet open for the Spring 2019 New International Student Orientaton. Please check back for an update. 

Orientation is mandatory for F-1 and J-1 students enrolling at UT Tyler for the first time, including transfer students. HEC students are not required to attend orientation, but will be required to complete the online orientation via a link which will be emailed as the Spring semester approaches. 

To ensure you receive all Orientation-related emails from ISSFS after you have been admitted:

Use the checklist to the right to aid in your pre-departure preparations. Be sure to review UT Tyler's rules on tuberculosis screening and take proper action if needed so that you are not denied entry to the Orientation event on August 23.

Post-Orientation Immigration Check-In

All new UT Tyler international students must check in with their international advisor with their original immigration documents following Orientation. 

Bring the following original documents and information to check-in:

  • New U.S. address and phone number
  • Original passport*
  • Current visa
  • Signed "Initial Attendance" or "Transfer-Pending" UT Tyler I-20
  • I-94 

*If your I-94 is attached to a different passport, bring both your current and I-94-containing passport.

Transfer students who have not yet obtained a UT Tyler I-20 must also bring to Check-In any of the following documents that remain unsubmitted in order to complete the transfer process:
