After Hours Building Access

The Police Department understands that students may need access to the building to work on a project or assignment after normal business hours from time to time. In order to maintain security to the buildings while working with the faculty, staff, and students to ensure student success, faculty and staff may give a student an after-hours pass that will allow them access to the building and certain rooms. 

Faculty who would like students to have access to the building, rooms, or labs can make contact with the Administrative Assistant in their area to obtain an after hours pass. Administrative Assistants can log in to the Temporary Parking Permits and Lab Passes portal. Once logged in, you will need to select "New Lab Pass" to create an after hours pass. If your Administrative Assistant does not have access to the portal, please email our Parking and Transportation Coordinator, Davis Behee, at dbehee@uttyler.edu to be given access. 

What is needed for the pass:

  • Student’s name

  • Student ID number

  • Student’s email address

  • Building/Area(s)

  • Start date and end date

    • End date can not extend past the current semester

Once the form has been submitted, a pass will be sent to the student and the Administrative Assistant and can be printed. When the student needs access,  they can call the UT Tyler dispatch at 903.566.7300 to be let in. They must have a picture ID and the pass to be allowed access to the areas designated on the pass.
