Undergraduate Program

The University of Texas at Tyler offers the BA/BS degree in economics, providing students a firm foundation to successfully meet career goals, attend law school or pursue other graduate programs.

UT Tyler economics graduates are employed in a range of professions, including market research, banking, finance, insurance, securities, consulting, economic research, management, marketing and sales.

As an economics major at UT Tyler, you will develop the quantitative and analytical tools necessary to understand market forces in a variety of microeconomic environments, as these forces determine prices, output, employment and incomes.

At the macroeconomic level, the program provides exposure to competing viewpoints regarding the determination of price levels, GDP, national employment, trade relationships and economic growth.

The division also offers courses leading to a minor in economics.
