Biography

Susan joined the UT Tyler Advancement Staff in October 2017 and serves as Executive Director of Development.

After teaching middle school English, Susan began her advancement career at UT Tyler over 20 years ago as Alumni Coordinator. She served as the College of Engineering Development Officer at UT Arlington and as Director of Development at the Dallas Zoo.  Susan has worked as a grant writing and fundraising consultant serving nonprofits, major corporations, and the construction and health care industries.  She served as a major gift officer for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and was most recently the Interim Vice President for Advancement for East Texas Baptist University.

Susan received her BS from UT Tyler and her Master of Nonprofit Administration from the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame.  She enjoys reading, cooking, and volunteering with The Bookworm Box, a nonprofit that she helped form with Author Colleen Hoover.  Susan and her husband, Bryan, keep busy with their adult children and grandchildren.
