Office of Graduate Studies

The Office of Graduate Studies (OGS) reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Dean of Graduate Studies is responsible for the administration and quality assurance of 35 master's degree programs, 2 joint degree programs, 1 cooperative doctoral program, and 5 graduate certificate programs.

OGS is also responsible for assuring the quality presentation of all theses and dissertations. A link to Information on preparation and processing of the master's thesis and doctoral dissertation can be found by clicking on Current Students in the left panel.

OGS works cooperatively with the Office of Sponsored Research to identify opportunities for student assistantships and fellowships.

The Dean of Graduate Studies sits as an ex officio member of the UT Tyler Gradute Council, which recommends graduate policies and approvals of all new programs, new coures, and course and program changes.The Dean also approves all memberships to the Graduate Faculty.

The Dean chairs the Graduate Directors Workgroup, composed of all college graduate coordinators. This group is responsible for making recommendations on the implementation of policy and the day-to-day operations of graduate programs and graduate admissions processes.
