Mission

The Center for Robotics and Intelligent Systems is dedicated to advancing real-time, edge-intelligent robotic solutions across multiple domains, with a strong emphasis on agriculture, environmental monitoring, smart healthcare, and smart grids. Our mission is to integrate robotics, artificial intelligence, and advanced sensing to create scalable, adaptive, and cost-effective systems that address real-world challenges and deliver transformative outcomes.

Dr. Prabha Sundaravadivel received her Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of North Texas (UNT) in 2018, her M.Tech in VLSI Design from VIT University in 2015, and her B.Tech from SRM University in 2011. She leads a multidisciplinary research group as the Director of CeRIS, mentoring students at all levels. Her research focuses on IoT, on-device learning, and Agricultural Robotics.

She has published over 85 papers, holds 3 U.S. patents, and has an h-index of 17. Dr. Sundaravadivel has received over 37 awards, including being named an "Innovation Fellow" by Venturewell Foundation in 2023 and “Outstanding Early Career Researcher” by the IEEE Bio-Inspired Technical Community in 2022.
