Wylie Martin is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 25 years of experience in the mental health and therapy field. Motivated by his background where there were limited resources and money to meet his family’s needs, he aspires to use his experience and education to serve the community. He has a heart for people and is passionate about serving others. Wylie currently serves as the senior program manager for the Northeast Texas Child & Perinatal Psychiatry Access Networks (CPAN & PeriPAN).
Since earning his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Texas A&M University-Commerce, Wylie has specialized in trauma-informed care and crisis services management. He is registered as a trauma therapist in Texas and is certified in Mental Health First Aid. Other areas of expertise include cognitive processing therapy (CPT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and program management. He is currently pursuing his doctorate at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, studying educational ministry with an emphasis in counseling.
His past roles include director of crisis services with the local mental health authority, director of counseling services with East Texas Baptist University, and work in Central Texas with the collaborative law enforcement/mental health program through the Georgetown/Williamson County Mobile Outreach.
Wylie has a remarkable personal journey as a two-time organ transplant recipient. In 2019, he and his wife joyfully adopted their son, Gabe. Outside of his professional pursuits, Wylie has a wide range of interests, including beekeeping, gardening, traveling, and enjoying outdoor activities with his family.
