Texas Youth Depression & Suicide Research Network (TX-YDSRN)

The Texas Youth Depression & Suicide Research Network (TX-YDSRN) was created as a part of the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium (TCMHCC) to establish a statewide research network, focused on youth depression and suicide, across all 12 academic medical centers in Texas.

TX-YDSRN seeks to improve the evaluation of and the response to the increasing problem of youth depression and suicide in Texas by coordinating a research network across the state of Texas that has been comprehensively trained. This registry study has created the following and will develop a network participant registry to describe population health outcomes for youth with depression and/or suicidal ideation or behavior. The registry will include the following information collected from participants:

Demographic data
Psychiatric history
Medical history
Family medical and psychiatric history
Psychiatric and psychological assessments

This study seeks to improve youth depression and suicide by:

Improving tools for early detection
Implementing evidence-based treatment
Examining factors that improve or worsen symptoms

Who can participate?
Youth who meet the following requirements may be eligible:

8-20 years old
Can dedicate time to in-person and/or digital study assessments
Can speak English and/or Spanish
In treatment for depression or have symptoms of depression or suicidality
