Scholarships

Undergraduate Admissions Scholarships

Undergraduate Admissions Scholarships are awarded by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions upon admission into UT Tyler.

Undergraduate Admissions Scholarship Renewal Requirements:

To renew admissions scholarships students must:

  • Complete 12 credit hours at UT Tyler for the semester(s) awarded.
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA at UT Tyler.

Graduate Scholarships

Incoming and returning graduate students must submit the General Scholarship Application each aid year for consideration for scholarships, including the New Graduate Fellowship. Please see the Graduate Student Financial Aid page for more information.

These scholarships do not renew and a new application is required each aid year. Scholarship recipients who violate the UT Tyler Honor Code will have their scholarship revoked and become ineligible for future scholarship funding.

Other UT Tyler Scholarships

Students apply once an aid year for general scholarships via the General Scholarship Application. These scholarships do not renew and a new application is required each aid year. There are several scholarships awarded that range in criteria, requirements, and amounts. Students must have a minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA and be enrolled full time to be eligible for general scholarships.

Scholarship recipients who violate the UT Tyler Honor Code will have their scholarship revoked and become ineligible for future scholarship funding.

Tuition Waivers for International Student

Requests for waivers of tuition and/or certain fees must be completed prior to the census date each semester.

Competitive Scholarship Waiver

To allow a public institution to grant a waiver of non-resident tuition charges to individuals who receive scholarships totaling at least $1,000 awarded by their institution in competition open both to residents and to non-residents.

Research Assistants and Teaching Assistants Waiver

To permit an individual employed at least half-time by a public institution of higher education as a research or teaching assistant, and his/her spouse and children, to enroll in public institutions in Texas while paying the resident tuition
