Dr. Mrittika Rodela is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Construction
Engineering and Management at The University of Texas at Tyler. She earned her Ph.D.
in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Washington State University, where her
research focused on the impacts of wildfires on source water quality and the effectiveness
of conventional treatment processes for removing ash from drinking water. Following
her Ph.D., completed in August 2023, Dr. Rodela served as a postdoctoral scholar at
Montana State University, where she evaluated drinking water system vulnerabilities
and cost implications related to wildfire preparedness in the Western United States.
She also gained teaching experience as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Montana Tech
University before joining UT Tyler. Dr. Rodela’s research centers on water quality
and treatment, with an emphasis on advancing climate preparedness for municipal water
providers. Her goal is to support water utilities in meeting regulatory standards
and safeguard drinking water quality in the face of extreme events and climate-related
challenges.
