Biography
Vicki Jacks Conway is a Distinguished Lecturer in Music at the University of Texas
at Tyler
and organist at Elmira Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Longview. She also
plays for one weekly mass at St. Anthony Catholic Church. She is a former student
of
Sheila Paige and was a faculty member and presenter for Keyboard Wellness
Seminars. Mrs. Conway graduated summa cum laude from Stephen F. Austin State
University with a double major in piano and organ performance, receiving the Lenvill
Martin
Outstanding Music Graduate Award. She earned a Master of Music degree in piano
performance from Baylor University and completed additional graduate study at The
University of Oklahoma, studying with Jane Magrath.
Areas of research include the intersections of music, neuroscience, and medicine in
teaching, learning, and performing. She is certified to offer the Safe and Sound Protocol,
a
listening therapy designed to help regulate the nervous system for better connections
with
self, others, and the world around us. She facilitates student performances in hospital
lobbies, hospice centers, and assisted living facilities throughout the academic year
and is
collaborating on a Music Pharmacy project with UT Health hospitals.
