During my master's program, I rotated in the Mycobacteria/Nocardia Laboratory, where
I began a project on nontuberculous Mycobacteria (NTM) Gyrase subunits associated
with fluoroquinolone resistance.
After graduating in 2019, I worked as a Research Associate performing molecular identification
of NTM, Nocardia, and other aerobic actinomycetes using targets such as 16S rRNA,
erm(41), rpoB, and hsp65. I also supported QA/QC and Quality Management activities
in compliance with CLIA regulations and CAP accreditation standards.
Currently, as Clinical Reference Laboratory Supervisor, I oversee molecular diagnostics
and antimicrobial susceptibility testing workflows. My current work includes an erm(55)
study on inducible macrolide resistance and the development of SOPs and protocols
for whole genome sequencing (WGS) and Oxford Nanopore sequencing.
