Biography

Robert Sterken is a Professor of Political Science at UT Tyler. Sterken is the author many articles, chapters, and books, including “Bill Ratliff: A Profile in Courage and Leadership in American Politics” and, “Teaching Barefoot in Burma” (https://amazon.com/author/robertsterken). Sterken is currently writing a book about Religion and Politics in Southeast Asia. Sterken was a Senior Fulbright Scholar in Yangon University in Burma/Myanmar in 2015-2016 and also in China at Jilin University in 2018. At UT Tyler, Sterken regularly teaches courses on Texas Politics, Religion & Politics, International Relations, and Asian Politics.
