 Student Fee Committee: April 17th 2026

SSF Budget Proposal Presentations:
The Counseling Wellness Center is requesting additional resources to hire an

additional counselor to accommodate the growth at UT Tyler. The waiting list for

traditional appointments is around a week. The presented standard for the ratio

of counselor to student is 1:1500.

Financial Wellness is requesting additional funds to increase the number of

student workers. This additional funding will allow for the implementation of a

program to train students to mentor their peers.

The Dean of Students' office is requesting a decrease in funding due to some

services

The Pep Band is requesting 65,650 dollars to continue to build the Pep Band on

campus. The pep band started up last year and received additional funding from

the President's office. The Pep Band wants to move the drumline scholarships to

Military and Veterans Affairs is requesting an increase to be able to maintain

service to our Military Students. The MVA wants to increase M&O to increase

travel and conference opportunities. Also, the department seeks to implement a

new technology system for its onboarding.

Student Success is requesting a flat budget to ensure that the SARS admin

continues to be funded and continue programs.

Student Publications is asking for a relatively flat budget to ensure that they can

keep students informed on campus life.
