The University of Texas at Tyler Center for Ethics will hold a student lecture at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20 in the UT Tyler University Center theater.

Dr. Charlotte McDaniel, former clinical professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, will conduct the interactive undergraduate discussion titled ‘Practicing Ethics.’

At UPMC, her interest led to empirical-based research to further understand how ethics influences and is influenced by dimensions of work settings in order to enhance outcomes.

While on her third appointment as a Fulbright scholar on organizational ethics in Tunisia, McDaniel evaluated a major university to re-organize and establish ethics initiatives.

She has conducted extensive research in empirical ethics, with more than 75 publications in peer-reviewed journals, five author-edited books and held central positions in major national and international organizations pertaining to ethics.

McDaniel holds degrees from Washington University – St. Louis and Vanderbilt University, as well as graduate degrees from the University of Connecticut – Storrs and Columbia University.
