UT Tyler will sponsor GenTX Day on Friday, May 4, Ona Tolliver, assistant vice president for student affairs and dean of students, announced.

The UT Tyler community is encouraged to wear university apparel that day.

Tyler mayor Barbara Bass will hold a GenTX Day proclamation at 10 a.m. on the downtown square.

GenTX Day celebrates and congratulates the students of Generation TX – especially graduating seniors.

Other sponsors include Tyler Area Business/Education (P-16) Council, City of Tyler, Tyler Independent School District, Tyler Junior College, Texas College, Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce and Hispanic Business Alliance.
