The UT Tyler Global Awareness through Education program will present a lecture as part of its 2012 Global Lecture Series, Dr. Jill Blondin, Center for Global Education director, announced.
Dr. Manfred Steger will give the presentation “Justice Globalism: Mapping the Political Ideology of the Global Justice Movement” at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 in the University Center theater. He also will discuss ideas from his upcoming book, Justice Globalism: Ideology, Crises, Policy.
Steger is a professor of political science at the University of Hawaii-Manoa as well as professor of global studies at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia.
His research interests include global politics, global studies and political theory.
A native of Austria, Steger holds a Ph.D. in political theory and comparative politics from Rutgers University.
