Dr. Colleen Swain, professor and director of the School of Education at UT Tyler, received the 2012 University of North Texas Department of Learning Technologies Outstanding Alumni Award.

She holds a Ph.D. as well as a master of science degree both from UNT.

Her research interests include teacher evaluation systems, professional development, instructional strategies and middle and high school curriculum.

Having come to UT Tyler earlier this year, she previously served the University of Florida and the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District.
