The UT Tyler Police Department, in conjunction with the Center for Personal Protection
and Safety, encourages the campus community to view prevention and preparedness videos,
Mike Medders, chief of police, announced.
“The videos cover topics relevant to college campuses nationwide,” Medders said. “The
videos are not only informational, but they also teach the viewer the proper mindset
needed to survive a critical incident.”
The videos may be viewed at https://www.uttyler.edu/police/safety-videos. Due to licensing restrictions, the videos are password protected. UT Tyler students,
staff and faculty have access to the videos by using either their Patriots or Info
user name and password.
Topics include guidance for surviving an active shooter situation, recognizing and
preventing violence on campus, recognizing and preventing violence in the workplace,
and intimate partner violence and stalking.
The police department also is available for on-campus group presentations on any video
topic. For more information, call 903.566.7393.
