UT Tyler student health and wellness, in conjunction with the Office of Student Services,
will hold a public event as part of the National Rally Against Rape 11:30 a.m. – 4
p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 on campus, Kim Harvey-Livingston, student services director,
announced.
The public rally will begin at 11:30 a.m. on the patio just outside The Met.
Discussions and a showing of the film “Transition to Survivor” and documentary “The
Line” will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the University Center theater.
“This event is open to everyone, and it will be a safe place for survivors,” said
Samantha Dwight, health education specialist.
The event is being organized in cooperation with the national event sponsored by Promoting
Awareness, Victim Empowerment. PAVE is a leading national nonprofit group that shatters
the silence of sexual violence, Dwight added.
