The University Health Clinic will offer three flu shot clinics for the UT Tyler community, Joe Vorsas, associate vice president for human resources, announced.
Campuswide clinics for students and benefits-eligible employees and their dependents will be:
As a reminder, those who are covered on UT Select are able to receive free flu shots. Students and dependents who are not on UT Tyler’s health insurance plan may receive the inoculation for $15 (cash or check only). Benefits-eligible employees are asked to bring their Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance card or employee ID for billing purposes.
“Because of enhancements in preventive health-insurance coverage, regular benefits-eligible employees can also get a free flu shot at any participating pharmacy, their physician’s office or at the campus health clinic any time that is convenient for them,” Vorsas said.
Flu shots also are available 8:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. and 2 – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the University Health Clinic on a walk-in basis.
Retirees covered under UT Tyler retiree health insurance may also participate in any one of the three clinics or get a flu shot at a local pharmacy, physician’s office or at the campus health clinic, Vorsas added.
Dependents and spouses do not have to be an active patient at UT Health Northeast to be eligible. Those wanting to use Medicare to pay for the flu shot must come to the University Health Clinic to get their shot and bring their Medicare card and driver’s license.
