UT Tyler will hold a public viewing of the documentary film, “Bridegroom,” Dr. Paul
Streufert, executive director of academic programs, announced.
The event will be 5 – 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 23 in the University Center theater.
Shane Bitney-Crone, the subject of the film, will speak during a question and answer
session that will follow.
“Shane is a LGBT activist, and the film explores the difficulties he faced when his
partner died,” Streufert said. “’Bridegroom’ has been very well received, and the
film has won several notable awards, including the Tribeca Film Festival’s Audience
Non-Fiction Award in 2013.”
Sponsors include UT Tyler Global Awareness Through Education program, Campus Activities
Board and the Gender, Sex and Sexuality Alliance student organization.
