RICHARDSON -- UT Tyler women's track and field standout Whitney Simmons has been named the American Southwest Conference Co-Athlete of the Week, the league announced Wednesday. Simmons, a freshman, set a new record in the Hammer throw in San Antonio.

Simmons, a White Oak native, won the Hammer throw at the Tiger Relays in San Antonio with a toss of 49.35 meters, a new UT Tyler record. More...
