UT Tyler has partnered with Tyler Junior College to assist with the community college’s
housing needs, Dr. Howard Patterson, vice president for student affairs, announced.
Through this collaboration, university officials will allow qualified TJC students
to live at Eagle’s Landing indefinitely.
“Tyler Junior College is in need of some residential housing relief, and UT Tyler
has partnered with them to assist in this effort on a temporary basis,” Patterson
said. “It is and has always been UT Tyler’s intent to make Eagle’s Landing UT Tyler
student housing. The apartment complex was purchased to deal with the university’s
growth in mind. However, we are pleased to help TJC in the short run.”
Eagle’s Landing staff continues to ensure the comfort and safety of all residents,
he added.
Requirements for residents include a complete background check and minimum 2.5 GPA.
Conveniently located across the street from UT Tyler’s main entrance, Eagle’s Landing
offers a unique campus living option for university upperclassmen.
