UT Tyler will hold Patriot Money Week April 6 – 10, Ona Tolliver, assistant vice president for student affairs and dean of students, announced.

Patriot Money Week celebrates achieving financial independence. Various activities and informational sessions are planned for UT Tyler students.

To kick off Patriot Money Week, a “Be the Change” reception will be 9:30 – 11 a.m. Monday, April 6 at the Patriot Zone. Breakfast will be provided.

Other Patriot Money events include:

Monday, April 6

  • 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. University Center: Patriot Piggy Banks. Decorate your own piggy bank.
  • 2 – 3 p.m. UC Theater: “Renting and Buying a Home.” Open to the entire UT Tyler community. Refreshments will be provided.
  • 6 – 7:30 p.m. Financial Management Association Presentation. Dinner will be provided.

Tuesday, April 7

  • 12:30 p.m. Business Building, room 104: “All You Need to Know about Credit Cards.” Free lunch for the first 25 students.
  • 4 – 5:30 p.m. Stewart Administration Building, room 127: Interviewing Skills Lab.

Wednesday, April 8

  • 12:30 p.m. Hundall, Pirtle and Roosth Building, room 253: “Insurance and Financial Info for Small Businesses.” Free lunch for the first 25 students.
  • 2 – 3 p.m. UC Theater: “Saving for Your Future.” Open to the entire UT Tyler community.
  • 4 – 6 p.m. BUS 104: “Smart Salary Negotiation.” Free pizza will be provided.

Thursday, April 9

  • 12:30 p.m. UC Ballroom: “Life After Graduation.” Features information sessions, a photo booth as well as prizes for UT Tyler upperclassmen and graduate students. Lunch will be provided.

Sponsors include the UT Tyler Student Money Management program and financial aid, career services, leadership and service and alumni relations offices.
