TYLER -- Sophomore forward Leandro Cid-Fernandez recorded a pair of two-goal performances last week to lead the Patriots to wins over No. 22 Texas Dallas and Howard Payne.

He opened the week with two goals against HPU in a 4-0 win and then converted two penalty-kick goals against UTD. Cid-Fernandez, who also had three shots on goal against the Comets, now has a team-best seven goals this season and has 16 in his career at UT Tyler. He also has three assists this season with two regular-season games remaining.

This is the second weekly award for Cid-Fernandez who earned it once last season as a freshman and was also named the ASC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. More…
