Sarah Yosten Named to UT Tyler Marketing and Communications Staff

Sarah Yosten has joined the UT Tyler Office of Marketing and Communications as a social media specialist, effective Jan. 4, Beverley Golden, executive director, announced.

A UT Tyler alumna, Yosten has worked at Brookshire Grocery Company since 2013 – first as a communications specialist then as the public relations coordinator. During that time, she developed a strategic plan for the communications department that included a social media campaign focused on employees. Before serving Brookshire Grocery Company, she worked as a new client assistant at Roberts & Roberts Law Firm in Tyler, where she created social media and email marketing campaigns.

"We are quite pleased to welcome Sarah to the department. Her demonstrated skill, as well as her enthusiasm, for social media will be a great asset to the university," Golden said.

As the social media specialist with marketing and communications, Yosten will lead the overall strategy and daily coordination of the university's social media presence, including the coordination of the main social media accounts and campaigns to support the university's mission. She also will oversee social media workshops for faculty and staff and coordinate students participating in the UT Tyler Social Media Ambassadors program.

In addition, Yosten will serve as a crucial member of the crisis management team to provide social media support and strategy.

Yosten holds a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from UT Tyler.
