UT Tyler faculty and instructional staff are encouraged to attend an upcoming professional development workshop, Dr. Julie Delello, Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning director, announced.

The campus event will be 10 – 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31 in the R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center, room 2009. Registration is open.

The workshop "Teaching with Writing Effectively and Efficiently" will explore tips and techniques for lowering the grading burden for writing assignments as well as how to grade more efficiently. Participants will also learn how low stakes writing can increase student learning without requiring a large deal of instructions.

Event sponsor is the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, dedicated to the advancement of best practices in teaching and learning at the university.
