The UT Tyler-Longview Small Business Development Center celebrated 2025 accolades among its clients and staff.

Clients Nationally Recognized

Two UT Tyler-Longview SBDC clients were recognized with 2025 U.S. Small Business Administration – North Texas Region awards.

Bobbie O’Dell, CEO and co-founder of Arpco Valves & Controls, LLC in Kilgore, received “Woman-Owned Business of the Year.” The Shoults Family, founders of Bear Creek Smokehouse in Marshall, received “Family- Owned Business of the Year.” Both were center nominees. Learn more.

Adviser Receives “State Star”

UT Tyler-Longview SBDC senior business adviser Virgel Conner received this year’s North Texas SBDC Network’s “State Star” Award, which annually recognizes exemplary performance by SBDC business advisers across the nation. It’s the highest honor advisers can achieve. Learn more.
