The University of Texas at Tyler for 2025 had the third highest CPA exam pass rate among Texas public universities and ranked sixth overall among all state universities. UT Tyler’s pass rate is 60.26%, which is above the current national average of 50%.
This marks the fourth consecutive time UT Tyler has made the top 10 list.
“We are very proud of our students and their commitment to obtain the CPA designation,” said Dr. Tammy Cowart, UT Tyler professor of business law and Department of Accounting, Finance and Business Law chair. “We not only congratulate our outstanding accounting graduates but also the faculty who help them reach their goals.”
The Uniform CPA Exam consists of three core sections — financial accounting and reporting, regulation, and auditing and attestation. Examinees then select from one of three discipline exams –– business analysis and reporting, information systems and controls, and tax compliance and planning. Candidates for CPA licensure must pass all four sections of the exam and complete 150 hours of college credit.
