UT Tyler Engineering Students Gain Insights at International Paper

Group photo of UT Tyler COE students at International PaperTwenty-five students from The University of Texas at Tyler College of Engineering recently visited International Paper in Valliant, Okla., to gain engineering and manufacturing insights.

The UT Tyler students toured the facility and learned about its various processing areas. A world- leading producer of fiber-based products, International Paper is a $19+ billion global company built on 125 years of manufacturing expertise. The visit also included a question-and-answer session and lunch with International Paper employees.

“We are deeply grateful to International Paper for providing this invaluable opportunity to our students,” said Margot Purdy, the college’s career success coach. “Employer partners like International Paper are foundational to student success, providing opportunities that shape their academic journey and their professional futures.”

Coordinated by UT Tyler’s career success office in collaboration with the college, the visit is part of an ongoing effort to enrich career readiness through experiential learning and industry engagement.
