UT Tyler Honors Students Shine at Regional Conference

Grogan and JacksonTwo students from The University of Texas at Tyler Honors College were recognized for their research in poster presentations at the 2026 Great Plains Honors Council Conference, with both placing first within their respective categories.

UT Tyler winners listed by hometown with major, category and faculty mentor are:

CROCKETT – Brandie Jackson, kinesiology, professional studies, Ashley Dalby.

DEBERRY – Elayne Grogan, biology and history, humanities, Dr. Matthew Stith.

“Elayne’s work in the field of history and Brandie’s work in kinesiology and chiropractic care show how talented and dedicated our students are,” said Dr. Paul Streufert, UT Tyler professor and Honors College founding dean. “We are so proud of them and know they will go on to do great things after graduation.”

Grogan and Jackson will graduate from UT Tyler in May.

GPHC is a regional conference with participating honors colleges and programs across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska.
