School of Health Professions
Dean's Welcome
Welcome to the newly formed UT Tyler School of Health Professions! In the School of Health Professions, we are committed to human health and well-being, and we are passionate about helping students achieve their goals.
We bring together world-class faculty from diverse health-related fields to train future public health, health administration, health care and health service professionals. Our nationally recognized faculty participate in scholarly activities, publications, externally funded research and outreach programs in their fields of expertise, which provide excellent learning and experiential opportunities for students throughout their educational programs.
The SHP includes four academic departments: the Department of Healthcare Policy, Economics and Management; the Department of Kinesiology; the Department of Public Health and the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences. We serve over 600 undergraduate students through programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders (BS), Health Sciences (BS), Kinesiology (BS) and Wellness (BA) and over 200 Graduate/Professional students in Health Administration (MHA), Kinesiology (MS), Occupational Therapy (MOT) and Public Health (MPH). The much-anticipated Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology will be recruiting students for the inaugural class scheduled for Fall of 2024.
I’d like to invite you to explore all our school has to offer, and I look forward to helping you achieve success.
