Handbook of Operating Procedures
The UT Tyler School of Medicine Office of Accreditation and CQI provides students with accredited medical education by maintaining regulatory compliance and aligning strategically with THe University of Texas at Tyler. Our commitment to accountability is demonstrated through strict adherence to the standards set by our national accrediting body - the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), which is jointly sponsored by the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).
The LCME is responsible for overseeing MD-granting medical education programs in the United States and evaluating whether these programs meet national benchmarks - comprised of 12 standards and 93 elements. In addition to meeting these standards, our school is committed to ongoing institutional and programmatic quality improvement. To fulfill this requirement, we have established the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Committee, which drives ongoing enhancement of the MD program through systematic analysis of educational policies, student feedback, and continuous monitoring for regulatory compliance.
For more information about the LCME, please visit their site.
