Clinical Phase (Supervised Clinical Practice Experiences – SCPEs)

The clinical phase consists of supervised clinical practice experiences designed to develop competence in patient care, communication, professionalism, and clinical decision-making across diverse patient populations and practice settings. Students complete required core and elective rotations under the supervision of qualified preceptors. Clinical education is structured to ensure students meet program competencies and ARC-PA requirements for clinical exposure and assessment.

Clinical learning environments are monitored through site evaluations, preceptor feedback,
student evaluations, and rotation outcome data. The Director of Clinical Education maintains oversight of clinical placements, preceptor qualifications, student performance, and compliance with accreditation standards.

SCPE Curriculum Structure

The clinical phase consists of 10 supervised rotations, including:

Core Rotations (8)

• Internal Medicine
• Family Medicine
• Emergency Medicine
• Pediatrics
• Obstetrics & Gynecology Health
• Surgery
• Psychiatry
• Community Health

Electives (2)

Students may select from approved medical specialties based on interest and program needs.
Rotation length, sequencing, and site assignment are managed by the Clinical Coordination
Team using the CORE system.

Preceptors & Clinical Sites

Students do not recruit preceptors or sites. Prospective and enrolled students are not required
to provide, secure, arrange, or solicit clinical sites or preceptors. All sites and preceptors are
vetted and approved by Program faculty. Students may share potential clinical opportunities, all evaluation, approval, contracting, and assignment decisions remain the sole responsibility of the
program.

Learning Outcomes & Assessment

Clinical performance is evaluated through:

• Final Student Evaluations (completed by primary preceptor)
• Patient and procedure logs
• End-of-Rotation (EOR) exams
• OSCEs
• PACKRAT & PAEA assessments
