Student Employment Policy

The Physician Assistant Studies Program is a rigorous, full-time, accelerated graduate medical education program that requires substantial academic and clinical commitment. Because of the intensity of the curriculum, students are strongly discouraged from engaging in outside employment during enrollment.

Participation or non-participation in employment activities shall not influence admissions decisions, academic evaluations, progression decisions, clinical assignments, or graduation eligibility.

By the Program

Prospective and enrolled students are not required to work for the Physician Assistant Studies Program as a condition of admission, enrollment, progression, participation in supervised clinical practice experiences, or graduation.

Students will not be employed by, compensated by, or utilized by the Program to perform activities necessary for program administration, instruction, recruitment, accreditation, clinical education, assessment, or other program operations.

Outside of the Program

Students may voluntarily seek employment opportunities outside the Program; however, such employment must not interfere with attendance, academic performance, clinical responsibilities, professionalism, or successful completion of program requirements.
